Directions for Biographical Poem
1. Your mission is to write a biographical poem that describes the characteristics and accomplishments of a prominent Renaissance figure so precisely that the reader can identify the Renaissance figure before she or he reads the last line. I will assign you a specific figure.
2. To write the biographical poem, follow the format:
Line 1: Four adjectives describing the person
Line 2:Relative (Son, daughter, husband, wife) of . . .
Line 3: Resident of (city and/or country)
Line 4: Who lived from (year to year)
Line 5: Who studied . . .
Line 6: Whose talents included . . .
Line 7: Who believed . . .
Line 8: Who is remembered for . . .
Line 9: First and Last name
3. The poem should be written neatly in ink or typed.

A Renaissance man/woman represents the Greek ideal of a balanced individual who participated in a wide variety of activities (many different interests).
Leonardo Da Vinci represented all the ideals of the Renaissance.
Find a partner, and brainstorm a list of individuals today that might be considered a Renaissance man/woman. Example: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jennifer Lopez.
